John McCain is a coward.

Remember when John McCain stood for something? Remember when his campaign in 2000 was derailed by George W. Bush's whispered accusations and smear offensive, while Bush acted congenial in public?

Apparently John McCain doesn't.

On Tuesday night, he had a chance to present his latest lies and smears (a weak attempt at guilt-by-association with William Ayers) to Barack Obama to his face.

Instead, he didn't mention it... and this morning, now that he can hide from any fact-checking or challenges to his lies at hate festivals rallies, he released a new web ad attempting to tie Obama to Ayers.

John McCain is a coward. If he had even an ounce of courage, he'd have confronted Obama about the association to his face on Tuesday rather than slinking around like a toad and releasing a web ad on Thursday. But of course, that would have given Obama a chance to respond with the truth in front of a huge audience - and the truth, apparently, is anathema to Chickens**t McCain.

What does John McCain have left but hate, fear, and baseless character attacks? Apparently nothing. Republicans - is that really how you want to win?
