Obama is NOT opposed to abortion... His planned parenthood rating was 100% on pro-abortion. He plans to use taxes to fund abortions AND he voted against a bill making it a law that babies born alive in failed abortions be given life assistance... He said in the debate that he didnt vote for it because he was afraid it would over turn Roe Vs. Wade.. which means he is DEFINITLY pro-choice... You all are deluded if you think he is pro-life..

Second, one can be opposed to abortion and still be pro-choice. I know this because I am. The Christian Right charlatans want you to think that the only way to be opposed to abortion is to support a criminalization agenda that by sheer coincidence increases their political and cultural power (to say nothing of their "ministries'" annual income).

Third, it looks like you're taking the word of the charlatan leaders of the "Christian" Right and the nutjobs on right wing hate radio at face value. BAIPA was an attempt to undermine Roe v Wade, and it takes a person especially polluted by the prejudicial hatred of the "Christian" Right for anyone who disagrees with them politically to believe that any person would seriously support removing legal protection from born-alive infants. Have you no sense of decency?

Fourth, and finally, the fact that the entire term "pro-life" revolves around whether or not a person wants to criminalize all abortion is rather problematic, and we need to change that. War and peace are life issues. Health care and education are life issues. Environmental stewardship is a life issue. The world HIV/AIDS crisis is a life issue. The current economic crisis is a life issue. Defining a person's stance on "life" by the extremely narrow question of whether or not they want to criminalize abortion is rather narrow; we need a broader and more holistic viewpoint that takes into account all issues that affect families' lives.

Pretty weak reason for your stance..."those guys supporting the other side are not nice so I'll call them names and rationalize the culture of death." Let's see what you say when BHO signs the Freedom of Choice Act that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have teed up for him which includes removing all barriers to abortion, federal funding and removal of funding for crisis pregnancy centers. Also included in there will be increased penalties for protesting in front of abortion centers. For now we have the Supreme Court to rely on but that could change as well.

James- I would recommend that you read the legislation you refer to as BAIPA. Looks like you're not familiar with it.
